WWE tease EPIC dream matches ahead of Smackdown 1000 after Hell in a Cell | WWE | Sport

Smackdown’s 1,000th episode will air on October 16 at the Capital One Arena in Washington and will feature the return of The Undertaker.

Undertaker, however, will probably not be in action as he only tends to compete during WWE’s major events, such as WrestleMania.

However, WWE hinted at the return of more legends and expressed their wish to see them perform in the squared circle against the blue brand’s brightest stars.

WWE included graphics on Facebook teasing Daniel Bryan vs Kurt Angle, WWE Champion AJ Styles vs Rey Mysterio, Charlotte Flair vs Michelle McCool, Sheamus and Cesaro vs APA and Samoa Joe vs Batista.

WWE Hall of Famer Angle wrestles part-time for WWE and was the RAW General Manager until recently.

Mysterio made a couple of one-off appearances for Vince McMahon’s company as he returned at the Men’s Royal Rumble Match last January and also competed in the first ever Greatest Royal Rumble Match three months later.

McCool also made a surprise return at the Royal Rumble and performed in the first ever 30-women over-the-top-rope battle royal.

Batista’s last match took place in 2014 when he and Evolution team-mates Randy Orton and Triple H lost to The Shield.

Dave Bautista then made a name for himself in Hollywood as he stood out in Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy franchise and Avengers: Infinity War.

JBL and Ron Simmons also haven’t competed together for a long time as their last Tag Team Match took place in 2004 against Rikishi and Scotty 2 Hotty.

Simmons retired after that night and only made some rare non-wrestling appearances later on.

JBL went on to enjoy a stunning Singles career as he became WWE Champion and beat the likes of Undertaker, Big Show and Eddie Guerrero.

None of those legends are confirmed to attend the show as WWE were only running fantasy matches they would like to see ahead of Smackdown’s landmark episode.

They wrote a caption which read: “With the 1000th episode of WWE SmackDown Live on the horizon, can we have these matches, please?”

Some of the blue brand’s top stars, however, will be part of the event and all champions seem set to be in action.

WWE Champion Styles, US Champion Shinsuke Nakamura, Smackdown Women’s Champion Becky Lynch and Smackdown Tag Team Champions The New Day are scheduled to appear.

They will be joined by Bryan, Samoa Joe, The Miz, Randy Orton, Jeff Hardy, Carmella, Asuka and Charlotte.
