Wu-Tang Clan hits the tiny stage. Yesterday (Dec. 4), the crew pulled up to NPR’s offices to perform for their Tiny Desk concert series. The concert was in honor of Wu-Tang’s 1993 album Enter the Wu-Tang (36 Chambers) turning 25 years old earlier this year. Raekwon, RZA, GZA, Inspectah Deck, U-God, Cappadonna, Masta Killa and Ol’ Dirty Bastard’s son were all in attendance for the epic performance.
During their 20-minute performance, the Wu performed a handful of their hits. The group performed “Triumph,” segued into “Protect Ya Neck” and ended with “C.R.E.A.M.” Raekwon borrowed the spotlight for himself when he performed “Glaciers of Ice” with Killa from his 1995 album, Only Built 4 Cuban Linx.
The W will be re-issuing “C.R.E.A.M.” on a special logo-shaped vinyl on Dec. 14. They also announced plans for a pair of shows in Philly and New York starting early next year on Instagram. The shows will celebrate their album’s 25th anniversary.
“Philly come celebrate the 25th Anniversary of 36 Chambers,” the Instagram caption began. “We’ll be taking over Franklin Music Hall on 1/25/19 Tickets will go on sale on Friday.”
