Before “Keeping Up with the Kardashians,” before Kim, Kourtney and Khloe became household names, before the start of the Kardashian Empire, there was DASH.
The reality-show sisters opened their first retail store in their hometown of Calabasas in 2006, a year before the debut of their show on E!
But DASH, which had been prominently featured on the show and its spinoffs, soon will be no more.
“After nearly 12 years, my sisters and I have decided to close the doors of our DASH stores,” Kim Kardashian West announced Thursday on her website. “We opened our first store as a family in 2006, and since then we have made so many lifelong memories. From opening locations in Los Angeles, Miami and New York, to having our Dash Dolls spin-off show, it’s been such a huge part of our lives.”
Kardashian West said the shuttering was necessary because of familial obligations and other business ventures the family has undertaken.
“We’ve loved running DASH, but in the last few years we’ve all grown so much individually,” she said. “We’ve been busy running our own brands, as well as being moms and balancing work with our families. We know in our hearts that it’s time to move on.”
Kardashian West has three children with rapper Kanye West, Kourtney Kardashian has three young children of her own with ex Scott Dissick, and Khloe Kardashian gave birth to her first child last week.
In addition to their reality show, the sisters also have a number of high-profile business ventures, including makeup and fashion lines.
